Bull in the Heather - SONIC YOUTH [Video]

Bull in the Heather, Sonic Youth's 1994 Video

One of the most influential 1990s bands, Sonic Youth is comprised of Thurston Moore, Kim Gordon, Lee Ranaldo, Steve Shelley and Mark Ibold.

The band's song 'Bull in the Heather' was the only single to be released from their 1994 album, Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star and is one of the band's most memorable songs.

The song title, 'Bull in the Heather' was named after a race horse who'd won the 1993 Florida Derby. The horses name, 'Bull in the Heather,' was on a bumper sticker that the members of Pavement had given them. When Sonic Youth inquired with the horse's owner about purchasing the rights to the song they were shocked to learn that not only did he agree, he also waived any royalty rights.

A great song from a great band. 1994 was a good year, man, and this song just added to it.

* Interesting Tidbit: Sonic Youth's 'Bull in the Heather' was featured on Beavis & Butt head's fourth season, episode, 'Mr. Anderson's Balls.'
